Senior Police Crime Analyst
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide tactical and intelligence analysis to the Office of the Chief of Police, Patrol Bureau, and Operations Bureau in an effort to prevent, deter and solve crimes or social disorder.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect data and perform intelligence and tactical analysis of crime trends, criminal activity, and ongoing criminal enterprise.
Create and disseminate crime reports that exhibit compiled data into charts, tables, and graphs in written and digital/electronic formats.
Develop and maintain automated reporting using SQL statements and Crystal Reports software.
Supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained and follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Present crime analysis and/or statistics as directed by the Chief of Police.
Provide training, continuous guidance and technical assistance to ensure effective and efficient use of the electronic criminal analysis systems and projects.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Statistics or related field, with at least two (2) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
